The Trust has legal requirements it must carry out as employers when appointing individuals to engage in regulated activity relating to children. It is important we ensure the correct pre-appointment checks are carried out. These checks help to identify whether a person may be unsuitable to work with children (and in some cases is legally prohibited from working with children and/or working as a teacher). These checks should be seen as part of the wider whole school or college safeguarding regime, which will continue following appointment.
