We understand that preparing for maternity leave is an exciting yet sometimes overwhelming time. The Trust is committed to supporting you throughout your journey—from planning your leave to returning to work with confidence.

On this page, you’ll find information regarding your maternity leave entitlement and pay. Please see the Trust policy below and application forms.

Whether you’re expecting your first child or adding to your family, we want to make sure you have clear guidance and feel fully supported. If you have any questions our HR team is always here to help.

It is important that you inform us of your forthcoming maternity as soon as possible and we will confirm the arrangement in writing within 28 days. The statutory notice should be given 15 weeks before your baby is due, wherever possible.

When you are due to return to work following a period of maternity leave, we will contact you to confirm this. Should you wish to change your intended return to work date, we ask that you give 4 weeks notice to your line manager and discuss this with them.

As part of our wellbeing service provided by Schools Advisory Service (SAS) we are able to offer the following:

Also as part of our wellbeing with SAS I can offer the following:

SAS nurses on hand to help with any enquiries you may have. However we have just recently re started our Preparing Parents webinars and interactive e-Guide.

The guide is suitable for anyone becoming a parent (whatever route they take to get there, all are covered) and also for their managers in school. It includes downloadable resources and the most up to date guidance and advice.
